England Day 2 - Ludlow and Barrington Hall

After breakfast the four of piled into the car and headed out to see some of the English country side.

The weather was a bit questionable so we opted to first visit a mostly indoor site.  We made a quick visit to the Malvern Priory before heading out of town to visit Barrington Hall, a National Trust Property.  This historic place is set on hundreds of acres of meadows and features a couple of beautiful and unique gardens outside.  One garden in particular is shaped in a circular fashion and helps reflect sunlight back onto the plants. This creates a warmer microclimate and allowed the growing of some exotic fruits.  The caretakers of the property are hopeful to be growing some pineapples here in a few years time.

We enjoyed a nice lunch at the mansion before returning to the car and heading to the town of Ludlow.  We explored the small market with Syl picking up some special cheeses for Tori.  The primary reason for visiting ludlow was to visit the Ludlow castle.  The remains of this very large stone fortress were impressive and we were all very warm by the time we had climbed up and through the many parts of the castle.

Getting a bit tired we stopped for afternoon tea before driving back to Malvern.
