We spent this day touring around the city of Luang Parang. We visited a few temples, enjoyed a relaxing lunch, and climbed to the top of the mountain for sunset. The first temple we visited was Wat Xiengthong, on route to our next stop we walked past Wat Sibounheuang, Wat Sop Sickharam, and Wat Sensoukaram. Wat Aham and the 500+ year old Vat Wisunarat were our second stop of the morning as well as a few shops in between. Lunch and a bit of cooling off while sorting out upcoming travel details were done and then we set out to climb up Mount Phousi for sunset and to see the small Wat Chom Si.
In the evening we spent an hour listening to a local tell old folk tales while accompanied by an elderly tribal man who played the Khaen, a traditional Lao reeded bamboo instrument. To finish the day we met up with a few folks from the boat once again at Utopia.
