In the morning we ate some breakfast at the hostel and then walked a couple miles to view an archeological hill. We climbed up to the viewpoint which had some other people exhausted at the top but our already week plus at elevation was helping. We returned back to town and found some sandwiches for lunch before syncing up with our afternoon tour of the famous valle de lunas. The pictures speak better than words can to describe some of the beauty we saw on our tour of valle de lunas. the tour finished up at a viewpoint over the valley where we saw the sun set.
We returned to town and relaxed for a little bit before scott headed out again for an astrological tour. Unfortunate was our time in the atacama that the moon was half and thus reduced the brightness of the stars to mediocre levels. Still an educational experience and a joy to peer through telescopes at distant twin stars, and nebulas, the tour would have been better on a darker night.
