Vietnam Day 13 - Hoa Lu Ancient Capital - SEAsia Day 39

On our final day in Tam Coc we once again rented scooters.  The first stop we made was at the Hoa Lu ancient capital.  This capital dates back to the 10th century and features a couple of temples and some ancient ruins.  The area is quite spread out but still enjoyable to walk around and learn some of the history.  You can read more about this capital here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoa_L%C6%B0

We continued on back toward the Bái Đính temple complex in hopes of getting a wider view of the entire place that we did not get yesterday.  Unfortunately for us a haze had fallen over the area and our view was pretty lacklustre.

A pitstop was made for lunch and we headed back toward town.  We followed a dirt road to the Thai Vi Temple and having seen so many temples in the past weeks were left somewhat underwhelmed.

In the evening we caught a night bus to our next destination, the city of Hue.
