The plan for today was to visit one of the local villages. We opted for the closest village to Sapa known as Cat Cat village. It features a waterfall and a fair amount of curated for tourists exhibits and town history. The bonus that the entrance to the town was less than a mile from out hotel also helped in the decision. The hike down was warm but relatively easy. We paid admission and walked through the town. As we passed through shops and small museum like displays we continued to descend and descend. We stopped and had some meat grilled over charcoal and continued on our way. A while longer and we reached the bottom of the valley and the village's famed waterfall. We enjoyed some shade by the waterfall and started our ascent back to Sapa. We made a stop for smoothies part way back out and eventually went back to town. A bit tired we decided to relax and be ready for a longer day tomorrow.
Well we had one incredible year of travel over the latter half of 2018 and the first of 2019. We will continue to use this to post on other places we find ourselves lucky enough to explore as part of our return to normal life.
