We slept in and relaxed at the hostel before packing our bags and heading for lunch at J Lucy's. The chorillana, fries topped with Meat and eggs, was enormous and we left much of it on the plate. A short walk from lunch to the bus station and we were soon on route back to Santiago. We checked into our air bnb that would be home for the next handful of days before setting out to see a bit of the historic city. We stumbled across a small arts and crafts market on route to the Plaze de Armas. We toured through the famous Catedral Metropolitana, enjoying the break from the afternoon Santiago heat. Wandering through a few more streets we ventured into the Iglesia de Santo Domingo which is a much more rigid and minimalistic approach on church building and decor. Again a few minutes in the cooler air was appreciated before we headed over to check out the sights and sounds of the Bellavista burro. Unfortunately not much was happening in this colorful neighborhood when we wandered through but we found a spot for dinner. A bit more walking returned us to the condo we were staying in and the night was completed by enjoying a bottle of wine while watching soccer highlights from just about every league imaginable.
Well we had one incredible year of travel over the latter half of 2018 and the first of 2019. We will continue to use this to post on other places we find ourselves lucky enough to explore as part of our return to normal life.
