Argentina Day 11 - Quebrada de Humahuaca

In the morning we wandered a couple miles out of town and visited a thriving goat farm.  The farm also has a few cows and sheep but prodominantly produces goat milk to create cheese.  We wandered around the property and the hundreds of goats before buying some cheese and heading back.  On the way back into town we had to get to the side of the road and avoid a herd of goats being marched toward us.  As the animals past one of the herding dogs wasnt happy that Scott wasnt joining along and nipped at Scott.  No skin was broken but its obvious why the goats dont want to be at the back of the line.

After lunch we caught the tour through the Quebrada de Humahuaca.   The unreal rock formations of this area, the dozens of colors exposed in the desert climate made for several hours of enjoyable site seeing and short hikes from the tour van.  We cannot recommend people to visit this part of the world enough.  The towns are authentic and the landscape is absolutely breathtaking.

Arriving back in town we picked up some traditional bread made by a lady on the side of the road and enjoyed the bread, goat cheese, and a bottle of wine for dinner at the hostel.  Following dinner some famous wine ice cream was tried and we were both a bit disappointed.
