Argentina Day 9 - Wineries in Cafayate

Tired from the long travel day the day prior we had a lazy morning before packing our bags and dropping them off at hostel for the next 3 nights.  We then wandered slightly out of town attempting to visit a couple of wineries.  We were unable to visit Bodega El Esteco though the reason why was lost in translation with the security guard.  Not far from El Esteco was vasija secreta and we stopped in there for a taste.  This was a tour bus hotspot and many people were at the winery for the same reason.  Eventually we tried a few wines which were all thoroughly disappointing.  We wandered back into town peruzing the many souvenir shops and local artisans stands that Cafayate has to offer.  We stopped for lunch and opted for a place selling pizza along the side of the main square.  Like the wine the pizza was not good but we were nourished and able to continue our explorations.

The next stop was at a small tasting room for Bodega El Transito.  We enjoyed the wines here and the friendliness of the hostess but with little to see we were soon on our way.  Around the corner was Bodega Nanni another tasting room for a smaller family run winery.  There was a lovely courtyard which was relaxing to sit in while we waited for our tasting session.  A very energetic host walked us through several of their wines going back and forth between spanish and english to cater to the other pair in our tasting group.  We ended up buying a bottle of wine which we enjoyed in the evening.

On the way back we stopped at a shop and picked up some eggs for breakfast.  Upon entering the room Scott managed to drop half of them on the floor which was fun to try and clean up.

Once again we found our way into town for dinner and picked up a few more eggs to replace the fallen.
