With the weather turning slightly we headed out from Port Dufferin with Cheticamp as the target destination. We stopped in Antigonish to grab some groceries for the next couple days of camping and hiking. After several hours of driving and a short stop for lunch along the Gulf of St Lawrence we arrived at the Cheticamp campground just inside of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Overall we were impressed with the facilities at this national park campground and feel that the US national park service has some work to do to improve the facilities provided to its campers. We headed out for a hike of the famous Skyline trail. Taking in views over the Gulf and part of the Cabot Trail we timed our hike with time to finish, make dinner, and get in the tent before the skies opened up.
Well we had one incredible year of travel over the latter half of 2018 and the first of 2019. We will continue to use this to post on other places we find ourselves lucky enough to explore as part of our return to normal life.
