Day 50 - Highlands National Park Day 2

We woke up before most of the other campers, made breakfast and headed up the Acadian trail.  This 5 mile loop hike gave us views over Cheticamp, the Gulf of St Lawrence, and the highlands.  After completing the hike we, took down our now dried out tent, headed into a Cheticamp for a baked treat (or three) and then continued our drive along the Cabot Trail through the park.  We stopped at various lookout points, a few unspectacular gift shops, and eventually found our way to White Point where we made lunch near the small fishing town's beach.  A bit more scenery and we were in Ingonish and setup camp again.  We set out on our second 5 mile hike of the day making our way up the Franey Trail for views over Ingonish, the Highlands Links golf course, and the Atlantic Ocean.  The views were worth the relatively steep climb up, though the backside of the loop back down was tedious and boring.  Some lamb and pasta was enjoyed for dinner, cooking on a single propane burner is a chore, but the food was tasty and some local beers were enjoyed.  50 days in the books.  Damn time flies.
