Day 56 - Off to Prince Edward Island

Up early and after some eggs and avocado for breakfast Tori and I headed for the ferry to Prince Edward Island.  We made our targeted sailing time and enjoyed the journey across the calm waters on a warm sunny day.  The nap on the top deck was glorious and soon enough we were on the island.  Taking a right after unboarding the ferry we saw a little bit of the eastern side of the island.  Our first stop was at Roma at Three Rivers National Historic Site.  We wandered around the old homestead for a little bit before heading on to Montague. We drove through a few more towns eventually arriving at Prince Edward Island National Park - Greenwich.  We hiked the famous Dunes hike across the floating boardwalk out to the beach along the north shore of the island. The weather was hot and humid, but the cool waters of the Gulf of St Lawrence were refreshing.  With the hike behind us our next destination was to check in at our Airbnb just west of Charlottetown.  Thankfully for Tori's sake we passed the Cow's headquarters and stopped for a couple of ice creams.  The airbnb was better than expected, as was the beer and mussels enjoyed that evening at Gahan house.  The first day in PEI was a success.
