Cambodia Day 1 - Siem Reap - SEAsia Day 78

Once again we were up early to catch a flight.  We arrived at the airport as the sun rose and were soon in the air destined for Siem Reap, Cambodia.  After landing we left the airport and found a cab to our hotel.  Along the way the driver told us the story of how he met and wed his wife.  Memorable specifics include his parents not approving of her, him leaving home to live at her parents, her becoming pregnant before he could save enough for their wedding.  10 years later they are still happily married with a couple of children.

As the story wrapped up we arrived at our hotel, dropped of our bags and then enjoyed some breakfast at a cafe around the corner.  The heat of Cambodia was already over 90 and we decided to relax at the hotel pool waiting for our room to be ready.  We continued the day by wandering around the town and along the river eventually grabbing a grab to get tickets for Angkor Wat for the following day.  Returning to town we went out to a lovely restaurant and then checked out the night market.  As I am writing this two weeks later I can honestly say this was the best market we visited in all of Cambodia.  The Siem Reap night market had the widest range of items and was well laid out.
