Day 12 - Zion Day 2 - Hiking the Narrows

Monday June 11,  what a spectacular day today was.  Waking up early sucked but getting to the park early was essential for our full day hike into the famous Narrows.  After the drive into the park, wait in the queue for a shuttle, and shuttle ride we began our hike up the Virgin river at approximately 10:30 AM.  The first few steps into the shin deep cool water woke us up in a hurry but as the day warmed the water became refreshing.  Stepping on and around rocks, we ventured approximately 3 miles up the famous canyon from the River Walk Trailhead.

Words cannot describe this place, and pictures can only do so much.  Tori and I highly recommend that you find a way at least once in your life to take a hike up this river.  Time your trip well to avoid the risk of high water and/or flash floods.  June is typically ideal as spring run off is low and upstream Thunderstorms are unlikely.
