Day 3 - Morning Run and some hiking at Crater Lake

After a pleasant night's sleep in our cozy little tent at Crater Laker Resort we went for a 4 mile run in the surrounding area.  The run took us past Fort Klamuth, a historical frontier military outpost that existed between 1863 and 1869, as well as into the fringes of the Fremont Winema National Forest.

Following a shower and we headed back to Crater Lake National Park where we attempted a couple different hikes only to be thwarted by the lingering snow and the dangers of loosened rocks and cliff edges that may lie underneath.  With the east rim road still closed (also due to snow) we spent a total of about 4 hours in the park before returning to the camp.  A relaxing pasta dinner and an evening of very warm weather has been enjoyed.

Tomorrow brings an approximate 500 mile journey down to Yosemite National Park, but in the meantime please enjoy the photos taken today.
