Day 14 - arriving in Rancho Cucamonga

We arrived to the LA area early on Wednesday morning after the 2 and a half hour drive in from Joshua Tree.  Our first stop was at the Subaru dealership as the transmission in the CrossTrek had not been changing gear ratio's smoothly for the past few days.  We were given a loaner and found out later that day that a recalibration of the computer had corrected the issue.   After dropping off the car we made our way to Rancho Cucamungo to spend some time with Chris and Andrea.

Chris has become an avid bowler and took Tori and I out to the local bowling lanes for a couple of hours before returning to enjoy their backyard pool and the warm California sun.  Following the dip in the pool we stopped by Tori's grandfather for a short visit.  In true LA style we witnessed a police chase on the local news.  A rented Uhaul pickup truck cruised through the highways of LA while the commentators matter of factly filled the silence with such great facts as the number of cigarettes the driver had smoked, the possible mileage range of the truck, the robsutness of the tires and if a tire blows these are the rims you want to be driving on.

The excitement of the car chase was topped by the Queen tribute band Queen Nation in downtown Ontario, California.  Between the people watching and the talent on stage it was a very fun evening.
