Day 15 - visiting friends and family

Thursday morning marked the start of the World Cup.  Chris and I enjoyed watching the reactions of Putin as the World Cup host nation Russia paraded to a 5-0 win over Saudia Arabia.  Andrea spoiled us with a ham scramble for breakfast and then Tori and I made our way down to Seal Beach and Leisure World to visit with her other Grandfather Tom and his wife Marge.  We spent a couple hours catching up and showing pictures of the first 2 weeks of our trip before heading into Seal Beach for appetizers and a beer.  Seal Beach is a cute little downtown core and we hope to visit again at some point.

Heading into the joys of rush hour traffic we made our way to Lake Forest park for a visit with some of Ted's cousins.  Jennifer and Andy treated us with a lovely carne asade tortilla spread enjoyed in their backyard oasis.  The company of Joanie, Jeanne, Rob and the kids added to the enjoyment of the evening.  Many laughs were had in between the converstaions about the various legs and practicalities of the trip.  Tori and I both look forward to hopefully seeing everyone again in Holland next june.

We finished off our Thursday with a quick stop at the Sun and Sail club for a quick glance at the venue that Ted and Tami were married at.
only photo i took all day
