Netherlands Day 1 - Amsterdam Self guided walking tour

On our first day in the Amsterdam we went on a serious self guided walking tour of the city.  The blog we were following added plenty of distance as we crisscrossed back and forth several times.  We saw many of the main canals, a few churches, the Dappermarket, the De Pijp neighborhood, the smallest house in Europe as well as the largest in Amsterdam.  Our attempts to see some of the courtyards of Amsterdam was mostly met with locked doors and inaccessible areas but we did see the famous Begijnhof which is one of the oldest houses in Amsterdam and set in a very pretty courtyard.  Amsterdam is such a beautiful city, in the full green of summer dotted with potted plants and colorful bicycles.  Ten miles of walking through went by quickly and we were happy by the time we arrived back at the hotel.

In the late evening as the sun set Scott went out wandering and took some pictures while Tori relaxed and planned our more of the trip.
