Turkey Day 1 - Erdine and Instanbul

We grabbed some breakfast in plovdiv and after having trouble hailing a cab we eventually managed to catch our bus to the Turkish border.  After going through the relatively pain free immigration process we accepted a ride from a kind gentleman into the town of Erdine where we spent the next hour exploring a UNESCO world heritage mosque.  Unfortunately we were unable to go up the minarets of the centuries old building but this did give us a bit more time for lunch.  After lunch we caught a cab to the bus station experiencing our first taste of the insanity of Turkish cab drivers.  When we arrived we were both happy to still be alive.

The next bus ride was uneventful and then we endured the second harrowing Turkish cab ride into the old city center.  We checked into our hotel, had a shower and ventured out to see a bit of the city.  The areas we ventured to were packed with people before we realized it was the end of ramadan and the city would be chaos for the duration of our stay.
