Greece Day 3 - Delphi and Meteora

We had missed one temple the day prior so we drove down the hill and saw the ancient ruin before backtracking and heading a few more hours to the famous monasteries of Meteora.  We stopped for lunch and a couple viewpoints along the way before dropping our bags at the hotel and heading up to see some of the monasteries.  Set on the tops of peaks of rocks these former safe havens for the orthodox monks and now accessible by road and a bit of stair climbing.  On the UNESCO list since 1998 this area understandably receives thousands of tourists every year.  We are thankful to have arrived in shoulder season and be more easily able to appreciate this unique and stunning landscape.

Scott took advantage of having a rental car and drove back up to one of the viewpoints for sunset but clouds muted the show.
