Peru Day 22 and 23 - End of South American Adventure

Peru Day 22

Our final day of exploring in South America, again breakfast was had at the hotel before we wandered back down along the coast.  At lunch we ventured to Mercado28 which offered many different street food style vendors.  The food was good and we continued walking around Miraflores.  Around 6 we caught a cab to the famous water fountain park, El Circuito Magico del Agua.  A couple dollars got us a couple entertaining hours of colorfully lit water fountains.  We then had dinner at the restaurant overlooking the ruins of Huaca Pucllana.  These ruins cover 15 hectares in the middle of lima.  The food was delicious and the ruins were lovely to admire.  A very nice way to cap off what has been an incredible three weeks in Peru and three months in South America.

We said goodbye to Sean around 10pm and he caught a cab to the airport for his 1 am flight.

Peru day 23

Bags were packed up and one last hotel breakfast was had.  Mandy, Tori and Scott caught a taxi at around 9 and were at the airport by 10 for what should have been their flights home.  Tori and Scott had no issues, but Mandy's connecting flight was cancelled so she got a "bonus" 8 hours in Lima plus another bonus 12 hours in Atlanta the following day.

Eventually Scott and Tori arrived back in Seattle and are grateful that Ted and Tami dropped their car off at the airport earlier that day to avoid an expensive uber home.
