We walked around Arequipa checking out a random collection of sites. Our first stop was at the small baroque styled Iglesia de la Compania. From there we wandered through the plaza and then found some lunch. We then noticed a sign for cheap flights to Cusco and ended up booking a flight for less than 50 dollars each saving us a 9 hour bus ride. Following lunch we visited the Museo Santuarios Andinos which was somewhat difficult to find. With the museum visit complete and more knowledge about the indigenous peoples of the area acquired we headed toward the Bolognesi Bridge and then the Yanahuara Scenic overlook. We spent some time exploring the Yanahuara neighborhood before returning to the center of Arequipa and up to a rooftop patio to watch what was another incredible sunset. A bonus as we were joined by Pavel who Tori and I had met a couple weeks prior on the Bolivian salt flats tour. We enjoyed our rooftop beer and then found a spot for dinner before calling it early as the Colca Canyon pickup was scheduled for 3am.
