Peru Day 8 - Mandy Arrives

We relaxed in the morning a bit and wandered over again to San Blas market to pick up some food to make for breakfast before picking up our laundry we had dropped off the day prior.  Shortly after noon Mandy arrived.  Without wasting much time we headed over to the San Pedro market and explored its sites, sounds, and smells before stopping at a small shop for lunch of soup, lomo saltado and potatoes.

We then began a tour of the inkan ruins that are close to Cusco.  We hired a taxi that barely fit the four of us and our driver took us around for the next couple of hours for approximately 20 usd.  The first ruin we saw was probably the most impressive.  Sacasaywaman was a huge religious complex that looks over the city of cusco.  Some of the stones used to construct this place we over ten feet tall and would have taken dozens of men to move from the mountain top quarry into their current locations.  We stopped at two more sites both impressive but neither as awe inspiring, Pukapukara followed by Tambomachay.

We returned to town and enjoyed a craft beer at Nuevo Mundo before having the best ceviche we had in Peru at Cicciolina.
